Syncor Alt automatically generates AI-powered alt text for your product images in bulk. Alt text improves your store’s accessibility and SEO by describing images to screen readers and search engines. The app runs entirely in the background, so you can continue working on your store while we process your images.

Currently, the app generates alt text for product images only. We don’t yet support theme images, blog images, or other image types.

We use a credit-based system instead of subscriptions. Each AI-generated alt text costs 1 credit. You get 50 free credits when you install. Additional credits are available in packs: Spark ($5 for 350 credits), Boost ($10 for 750 credits), Surge ($25 for 2,100 credits), and Ignite ($50 for 4,400 credits). Credits never expire.

No, your credits never expire. Use them at your own pace.

Credits are non-refundable, but they never expire, so you can use them whenever you need them.

Creating a task is simple: give your task a name, choose your scope (All Products, Selected Products, or Selected Collections), select which product status to include (Active, Draft, Archive), and set your preferences. You can choose to skip images that already have alt text, and whether to auto-apply the generated alt text or review it first.

The task runs in the background, so you can close the app and continue with other work. You’ll receive an email notification when the task completes or if it fails. All generated alt text is saved in our system for your review.

There’s no limit. The app processes everything in the background using asynchronous task processing.

Yes, you can create and run multiple tasks simultaneously. Each task processes independently in the background.

You’ll receive an email notification if a task fails. You can retry failed tasks with one click, and you won’t be charged additional credits for retrying.

Yes. If you disable Auto Save when creating a task, the alt text will be generated and saved in our system but won’t be applied to your store. You can review and click Apply Alt Texts when you’re ready.

Currently, you can regenerate individual alt text if you’re not satisfied, but direct editing isn’t available yet. This is a feature we’re considering for future updates.

The AI analyzes each product image along with your product title, description, and variant information. It also uses your custom settings — language, brand description, custom prompts, and blocked phrases — to create accurate, relevant alt text that matches your brand voice.

Yes. In your app settings you can set the language, choose whether to include product names, add a brand description, provide a custom prompt, and specify blocked phrases to avoid in generated alt text.

No. All processing happens on our servers in the background. Your store performance won’t be affected.

Notifications are sent to the primary email you specify in your settings. You can also add CC email addresses to receive notifications.
